Sunday Round-Up

As you would probably assume, we haven't been spending much time on the computer since vacation started (hence the missed post yesterday, and the foretold unfortold posts we'll probably miss later in the week...), so I took time today to check my email, catch up on some refinery29 reading, find new music, play with picnik because all the features are officially free-ninety-nine, and the like.
Realized I missed freeze tag on Wall Street yesterday, which is upsetting, so I worked out some future planning... Miike Snow in April, Foster the People and the Kooks in May,  and Water Fight Festival in June.

Song of the day:
So slick.

UGLY SWEATER HOLIDAY PARTY

Because nothing says happy holidays like looking ridiculous in clothing that doesn't fit!

GREAT turn out!

(Jamaican geometric sweater- vintage <- from her daddys pile of never before worn clothing!)

(Shades of gray sweater- shop in Nyack, NY <- it's handmade!)

(Kangaroo sweater- Australia <- she had to tell her dad she was wearing it because it was ugly!)

(Repeated patterns sweater- Peru <- it's alpaca!)

(Reindeer and snowflake sweater- vintage <- my Grandma made it for my mom!)

Punch was served and a grand prize was given out... can you guess to whom?

Burberry Acoustic

The concept is pretty simple- put talented singers in your clothing and have them perform acoustic versions of their songs.

I have literally wasted hours sitting and marveling at these videos.
I want this music to play on a loop in my head and the clothes to be zapped on my much less musically talented body in hopes that it would fool people into thinking I'm a cool Brit.

Alas it is not so;
I am not british, musically talented, or own ANY Burberry
Oh well, c'est lavie... (wrong country.)

TGIF

Whenever I'm feeling down or just blah, this is my go-to inspirational song by one of my favorite bands, Foster the People. It reminds me that life is just too short to waste a single day of it, and that if you put your mind to anything you can achieve it. The perfect song to start a much-needed weekend.
Enjoy (:

DARNnearlyDAILYDUDS

(jacket: Urban Outfitters, hoodie: American Apparel,  jeans: BDG, boots: Minnetonka, scarf: Pashmina, hat: Dr. Dog, shirt (not seen): borrowed from a friend)

As the name of our blog alludes, our plan is to post on a daily basis. However, there are certain factors (such as school, holidays, personal lives, the like) that will sometimes keep us from doing just that. Sadly, darnnearlydailyduds just doesn't sound as catchy, but we hope you'll understand.  Please accept our DEEPEST apologies and this imaginary pie that I am handing you, right now, this instant, over the computer, as a gift and token of our gratitude.

On another note, the hat is from a Dr. Dog concert that I went to last year- hands down one of my top 5 favorite concert experiences. The song below is a good one to revisit every-so-often and is a foolproof mood lifter.
