Warehouse Sale

A few pictures from my second day of vacation at the American Apparel warehouse sale.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed when I got there a half hour after it opened and the place was empty. I had spent the whole night before strategizing with the other dos weirdos how we were going to find clothes (pounce, elbow, scream, and grab anything and everything in our size), what we would do if someone took something we wanted (yank her/his weave), and how we were going to change without dressing rooms (human curtain), but all of our planning was for naught! Everything was nicely put on hangers, most things were available in every size, and the four other people there were for some reason not interested in tricot dresses and leather skirts...

If you were interested in going, I definitely advise you get there before it's over (31st of January). Some things are still pretty expensive, but I left with 7 things all for less than $20 each if you averaged how much I spent; so really you've got nothing to lose and clothing to gain!

False Impressions

Lies. These pictures are just a cover-up for my not-so-pleasant reality.

I am not, in fact, out in an urban landscape on a somewhat sunny day, staring admirably at my Wangs, but actually at home moaning about how I am dying and probably in the greatest state of misery that I've been in since the last time I was sick,
3 months ago.

My basement smells like doody, my dehumidifier smells like rot, I picked up my old habit of watching Korean shows on Hulu, and I'm also whining even though I said I wouldn't do that once vacation started. 

I'm also saying "I" and "me" a lot, and there isn't any of that in The Duds.

These pictures are from my birthday weekend, a time of happy things such as green jackets, Constance wedges, and free cupcakes. 

Gotta go, it's hard to read subtitles while writing a post and I'm not nearly as fluent in Korean as I'd like to be.

Horse Rider

As I promised you, here is an outfit post although I know it is not much. Things have been hectic in school with vacation coming up and I'm so tired I am having trouble staying awake as we speak. I had to of course sneak in my favorite pose, the look-down-at-your-shoes pose, which came in handy in trying to hide my under-eye bags from you. Today was one of the coldest winter days yet and I was not prepared, as we have been very spoiled with fifty degree weather until this week. I posted the same top half of this outfit a while ago (shh don't tell) but just added my beat up boots to stay warm. I kind of felt like a preppy horse rider in this outfit, something I've always dreamed of doing but never got the chance to do. Maybe I'll get to take a horse-ride along the shore when I down to Florida in 6 DAYS!

Week of the Green Jacket: Days 4, 5, and pictures galore!

(Banging my head against the keyboard because the sizes and resolution of all of these pictures are drastically different).


Spontaneous camera attack in the library, crashing after a ridiculously long day slash typical yawning picture, 15 (ok maybe 20) minute bell bangles, tears of frustration slash sleep deprivation slash slavery, and then some more of the same.
The past two days consisted of a lot of screaming at people (in my head), stabbing myself with needles, consoling hugs, bitter remarks, snarky remarks, shut up's, heart-attack prompting take-out, snarky comments, stealing, calling people putzes (in my head), calling people putzes (to their faces), and all around good cheer!

Vacation for us is so close I can almost taste the morning breath I'm going to get upon awaking from a comatose state after the first day. I promise posts will be more regular and there will be less verbal abuse once school's out.

My classmates are going to be less than thrilled that I was sitting in their props...

Wearing the same jacket for a week straight didn't seem that difficult of a task at first (considering I wear it on a nearly daily basis as it is), until I realized all my outfits looked the same...

So, I wore two things I rarely wear:

1.  an anything with words,

and 2. almost no black (leggings don't REALLY count).

Ehh, ehh?

No time for any real outfit pictures today- too busy lugging leftover Christmas trees across classrooms in my Jewish school and pretending that I'm the head designer of an award-winning fashion brand.

On the plus side, I'm wearing pants under my skirt!

OverSize

Here is yet another sweater that I stole from my dad's closet and I cannot get enough of them. I don't know when wearing ugly holiday sweater became ok again, but boy I'm glad they did because they've become my winter go-to. They work with jeans, leggings, skirts, nothing, anything and they're just oh so comfy. I encourage you all to search your father or grandfather's closets, or even your grandmothers' and grab some new treasures.

OOTD 12/30/11

 Raise the roof represent!

I know, I know, I'm an outfit-almost-repeater. Here I go again with the denim button down under the long sleeve shirt... except this time it's under a plain, slouchy shirt and NOT  a printed one. 

The hint of denim made the otherwise very boring and dark outfit a bit more interesting .

I hate wearing all dark colors, even though I'm going to be a bit of a hypocrite on New Years. 

Bu not to worry- I'll sneak some color in there..
